What are Chemistry and How Is It Used?Chemistry is a natural tendency that people have to develop while spending time together as they get to know one another. From this natural human tendency, more people are becoming interested in chemistry as it is an avenue to make an interaction with others pleasant. Also, it gives the chance to connect more with one's environment by indulging in activities related to chemistry.At first, you would find that the words 'chemistry'chemical reaction' can be really confusing to the common public. Chemicals are actually reactions of two types of atoms and these reactions are called 'acts'. However, we would not be able to define all the acts as the above mentioned words are often used in ways of reactions. Actually, the main purpose of chemistry is to create useful substances and that is why there are classes of reactions. These classes can easily be listed as follows:Class 1 - Chemical Reaction is where the two components of a substance combine in a certain way to form a new compound. This is sometimes known as collocation. In this process, one substance is changed into another by addition of a chemical catalyst. The molecules of the two substances are chemically bound to each other, thus, the combination results in the creation of a new compound. In many cases, this type of chemical reaction will occur through adding hydrogen or carbon atoms to a compound.Class 2 - Atomic or molecular reaction is where the atoms of a substance are transferred to another substance through a particular process. It is usually done through chemical bonding, but in some cases, the atoms can be pushed through other means, as well. This process is not permanent, which means that the atoms are not transported back to their original state. That is why the atom and its bonds are moved from one form to another. Some examples of this are those bonds that can be broken with heat or oxygen atoms are shared between elements. In addition, new elements can be formed through the use of unstable isotopes.Class 3 - Metathesis is where the two elements are combined to form a new compound. In many cases, the former element is extracted and reused to make a new compound, however, in others, the former element is not recovered. The former element is used to form a new element, but the entire process is irreversible. This is where chemical reactions can occur.Class 4 - Full maturation is where the material is formed into a new compound, or a new element, which is an old compound but has changed forms. Usually, the substance that is extracted will be used to form a new compound. In this process, the old and new compounds will be mixed together. This could involve the use of either of the compounds.As you can see, this process is basically considered as a big mess, however, it is also highly profitable and the possibility of making money through this process is still around. Indeed, the process of science also uses a lot of these processes to crea te new substances. Hence, this is how chemistry is similar to the process of science, especially for those who would like to understand what chemical reaction is all about. Some might wonder why we need chemistry, after all, there are people out there who are creative enough to figure out different reactions.

Thats why you need to use arithmetic shortcuts to solve questions quickly and correctly. Heres a sampling of what youll need to know for the ISEE quantitative reasoning section. On the test, youll need to be able to create prime factorization of numbers (dividing numbers into their prime numbers). Take the number 24, and see what prime numbers you can multiply to equal 24. The only way to do this is 2 x 2 x 2 x 3 or 23 3. Use prime factorization to answer this question If xy = 13 and both x and y are positive integers, then what is the sum of x + y? A. 13 B. 14 C. 16 D. 20 E. 26 13 is a prime number; so the only prime factorization is 13 x 1. 13 +1 = 14 (answer choice B). Percents: Can be tricky. But, use this simple equation: Part x 100 / Total. Consider this question: If Wendy missed 12 out of 80 exam questions, what is the percent of questions she missed? Simply multiply 12 x 100 = 1,200. Then, divide that by 80 = 15 (15% is your answer). Youll also see questions like: Whats 20% of 53? To figure these out, slide the decimal point over two places to the left. So 20.0 becomes 0.2. Then, multiply the decimal percentage by the number (0.2 x 53 = 10.6). Consider another type of question: 5 is what percent of 2? To answer this, you need to turn it into an algebraic equation (5 = n x 2). Then, just solve (n = 5/2 = 2.5). There are various things you can do that constitute self-promotion and one of those is promoting your great ideas. Creative idea generation is as important as your ability to get results and take responsibility for things. The problem you can face is what to do when you discover someone has ripped off your great idea.   It’s more than just irritating, it won’t enhance your career if you aren’t acknowledged for an idea that is given ownership to someone else.   Especially, if that idea is a seriously good one. Here’s some tips for you to consider to help prevent or to deal with this issue: There is some good news with what youve said and that is that someone thinks your ideas have merit or they wouldnt have chosen to share it as their own. Being mimicked is a high form of flattery. That said, the downside to this situation is that you dont get credited for the good idea.  Your good ideas are  part of your self-promotion, its how people come to view your potential.  Let me just say this to set your expectations you can never completely protect your ideas.  You can do some things to help reduce the likelihood of other people taking credit. When you toss out an idea, toss it out to more than 1 person.  It doesnt have to be at the same time but you will find that the more people hear your ideas; they will know its yours.  That way if someone does try to represent the idea as yours, others will know it came from you. When appropriate, document your idea via email.  Again, its hard to represent something that is in black and white and sent to others. This may take some effort, but you can inject a quick ownership sound bite when someone has talked up your idea as their own.  You could say something like I guess you really did like my idea.  We should talk about it some more.  Its important for you to realize that when someone does this, it usually isnt done with foul intent.  We all have tons of information coming at us all the time and dont always remember its origins.  I have a couple people very close to me that do this all the time. If you do know that someone has done this not only repeatedly but to undermine you, you need to stop sharing with them if you can.  Understand that your boss may do this to you (as well as others in your group) and that situation is different. Sometimes, management does represent ideas, work and results as theirs to simplify communication.  In some ways, they have to represent everything going on in their group and it may not be appropriate to detail out every single persons contribution.  The main thing is that the boss does recognize YOUR ideas and contributions. You may need to ultimately confront your offender or discuss this issue with your boss for their guidance.   Only take these steps if the tips outlined above have failed to stop a “repeat offender”. For many students, tests are highly stressful, causing fear for even those who study diligently in advance. Luckily, there are a number of test taking strategies and tips that will help your teen boost his or her chances for exam success, whether taking a standardized exam or a pop quiz in English class. Adopt a positive and realistic outlook. Before your teen ever cracks a book to study, be sure you explain this: no test is a completely accurate measure of a students knowledge and no test is worth excessive anxiety. Remind your teen frequentlyand especially before a test daythat all you and the teacher expect is sincere effort, not perfection. Putting things into perspective will help ease those worries and allow your teen to simply demonstrate his or her knowledge. Adopt a few go-to stress management techniques. Teens who experience test anxiety should arm themselves with a few trusted relaxation practices and stress busters. For many students, taking a few moments to close their eyes and think and visualize positive things works wonders. For others, stretching and deep breathing can slow down a racing heart and bring oxygen into the blood flow, creating a calming effect. Talk with your teens teacher about effective techniques to calm oneself and stay focused and optimistic during a test. Jot down the cant forgets right away. When beginning a test, your teen should take a minute to write down (on a piece of scrap paper, if provided, or in the margin of the exam) any formulas, key facts or other important information that he or she might need to refer to during the test. Calculate a time budget. Encourage your teen at the start of the test to perform a quick calculation on how much time to spend on each question. If given 60 minutes to complete a test with 45 multiple choice questions, your teen should average around one minute 20 seconds per question. So, this means your teen must pace him or herself and check the clock a few times throughout the exam. Managing ones time well is an essential part of being a good test taker. Save the hardest for last. Every exam will have a few brain busters that trip up your teen, and getting hung up on these mid-exam can cause unneeded anxiety. Instead of spinning the wheels on a challenging question for more than your teens budgeted time, encourage him or her to skip and circle such problems. Your teen can revisit those questions at the end of the examas long as he or she leaves sufficient time to work on them. Leave some review time. Ideally, your teen will be able to go over the exam one final time before the test ends to review all answers and re-read any confusing questions where your teen wasnt certain about the answer. At that time, your teen should also review the test for any glaring errors such as leaving their name off the test or any unanswered questions. Test taking isnt easy for many students, but there are few signs to watch for that may indicate your teen has more than a case of pre-exam nerves: Consistently panics about exams and studying for them. Studies for long periods of time, but exam scores dont reflect the effort. Consistently underperforms on exams for which the student studied or claims to have studied. Is Your Workload Pretty Light? Each semester in college is different. The workload during some semesters may be absolutely unbearable and you may be drowning in assignments while other semesters may have a much lighter workload. If you are taking general education courses or mostly electives this semester, your workload is most likely be easier and lighter than if you were taking core classes for your major. Time management is an important skill to perfect and maintain throughout life, not just during college. We can all be procrastinators sometimes, it’s only human. However, if you find that you fight the urge to procrastinate and don’t leave assignments until the last second, you can most likely handle a part-time job. When working and going to school, it’s important to stick to a schedule and have your work done on time. This may mean that you have to finish an assignment a week early so you don’t fall behind and are still able to work. Are You Motivated? Make a list of your goals for the semester, life, and after college. If your goal is to make money and not be drowning in student loan debt for years, you are probably motivated to make time to work a few hours during the week. It’s important to have motivation throughout the semester because if you lack motivation, you will most likely be miserable and won’t excel in school or your part-time job. Can You Find a Job Related to Your Major? Depending on your major, you may be able to find a job that will help you gain experience for when you graduate and start your career. Not only will this be a great way to make money, but it is an awesome resume booster! Sometimes working for minimum wage won’t be worth your time while in school. Depending on the commute time and cost, you may be making much less than you originally thought when you applied for the job. If you find that a majority of your earnings will be going towards travel expenses, food, or any other additional costs of having the job, it may be better to sit this one out and focus on your schooling or finding an internship.
